Pop Up 2025
This summer, Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space (PICES), in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council, is presenting its 6th Summer Exhibition Series at Berninneit Art Gallery, Cowes on Phillip Island
This highly acclaimed exhibition will follow PICES new 50x50 exhibition from January 4-27 and will present two consecutively curated exhibitions featuring 22 talented artists .
At this exhibition visitors can explore a rich variety of art media , including painting, photography, pottery, printmaking, sculpture, and textiles, created by artists from Bass Coast, Gippsland, and beyond.

PICES Small Works Exhibition
The PICES Small Works Exhibition celebrates the beauty and impact of art on an intimate scale. Showcasing a diverse selection of petite pieces from talented local artists, this exhibition highlights how small works can carry powerful emotion, rich detail, and striking presence. Each artwork invites viewers to step in close, offering a personal and engaging experience that proves great art doesn’t need to be grand in size to make a lasting impression.

Pop Up 2020
2020 was an exciting time with the commencement of the first and long awaited PICES Pop Up Exhibition in Cowes. Five glorious weeks of stunning contemporary works were showcased from twenty-one local artists from across the Bass Coast Region. Pop Up 2024
The fifth and most successful PICES Pop Up Exhibition to date had a change of venue for 2024 with the event taking place in Berninneit Cowes, Phillip Island in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council. The purpose built gallery was a superb venue with uninterrupted display walls, high ceilings and professional gallery standard lighting. Being in the gallery gave visitors to Berninneit the opportunity to come in and immerse themselves in the exhibitions.

Pop Up 2023
Our 2023 Pop Up Exhibition was a resounding success with 26 artists showcasing their diverse talent and high quality works spanning the categories of Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Photography, Printmaking, Pyrography, Sculpture, Weaving & Woodturning. Held for the first time at the Ramada Resort Phillip Island, visitors enjoyed the intimacy and vibrancy of the venue, returning on multiple occasions and delighting in the opportunity to engage with art and artists alike.

PICES 2024 In Focus
"PICES in Focus – A Gallery Talk and Studio visits with Regional Artists," video which spotlights artistic practices in regional Victoria launched on Sunday, April 28th, 2024. Held at Berninneit Cowes, the event saw PICES members, along with family and friends, eagerly gathered to witness the culmination of this exciting project. PICES at Meeniyan | 2023
This exciting collaboration between PICES and the Meeniyan Art Gallery was a great way to expand PICES coverage to the South Gippsland town of Meeniyan. The exhibition ran for over four weeks from the 28th June 2023 and featured five talented mid-career and established Phillip Island artists. The five artists showcased a range of works across a variety of media that included painting, photography, pottery, sculpture and weaving.

Pop Up 2021
2021 saw such an amazing challenge to bring together the second PICES Pop Up Exhibition. Despite Covid 19 always being at the forefront of peoples minds, art always manages to triumph. In these trying times it was a wonderful escape for locals and tourists who ventured out to come and view such incredibly inspiring works. Pop Up 2022
2022 was a testament to the tourist and local community’s love and appreciation of the arts despite Covid still being top of mind for many. This third year proved to be the best yet with a record twenty-eight artists involved and many works attracting record sales.
