2026 Contempora 1 exhibition

Contempora 1 Exhibition
4 – 15 January 2026

Contempora 1 marks the beginning of PICES’ contemporary exhibition program for 2026, bringing together a diverse group of artists whose practices span painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. This exhibition celebrates individuality of expression, material exploration and the many ways artists respond to place, perception and lived experience.

The works presented range from bold and intuitive to reflective and finely resolved, offering visitors an opportunity to engage with contemporary art through multiple visual languages. Together, the artists create a dynamic exhibition that invites close looking, quiet contemplation and conversation.

Participating artists include:

* Melinda Holt (painting)
* Carolyne Jane (painting)
* Julie Lundgren Coulter (painting)
* Gay Mosby (pottery)

* Helen Philipp (sculpture)
* Kylie Watson (printmaking)

As part of Contempora 1, PICES is pleased to present Artist Insights, a public forum offering audiences the opportunity to hear directly from participating artists about their creative processes, concepts, techniques and materials.
