PICES invites artists to be part of the 2026–2027 Summer Exhibition Series at Berninneit Art Gallery in Cowes
— a vibrant program showcasing contemporary art from across Bass Coast and beyond.
Whether you are an emerging or established artist, this is an opportunity to exhibit your work in a professional gallery environment, at Berninneit Art Gallery in Cowes, connect with wider audiences,
and be part of a dynamic and growing arts community.
You do not have to be a member of PICES to apply and submit your artwork for the exhibitions.
However, becoming a member offers valuable benefits, including reduced entry fees and the opportunity to be part of a growing and dynamic arts community. Membership provides a deeper connection to our exhibitions, events and creative network, and supports the ongoing development of contemporary art in the region.

Small Workss

Open to all artists — no selection process.

Read the Conditions.

Submit your application directly via the entry form.

You may submit 1 to 3 artworks.

The Entry Fee is $50 (PICES members), $80 (non-members) (this fee covers all Artworks submitted).

Accepted artists are then requested to provide BIO and images
-
Provide one high -quality image (300dpi JPG) of each artwork.

Provide your Artist Biography (BIO).

Ensure your artwork is ready to hang and properly presented.

Complete all artwork details accurately before submitting.
Contempora 1 & 2

Read the Conditions.

Submit the Expression of Interest (EOI) directly via the entry form for consideration of the Curator (no fee at this stage).

Provide a strong, cohesive folio of your 3 sample works - by uploading your images.

Include your Artist Bio.

Selection is based on artistic quality and concept.

Only selected artists will be invited to exhibit once approved.

The Entry Fee is $60 (members) $90 (non-members).

The Curator, who may visit invited artists, shall review proposed artwork and agree with the artist which artwork shall be exhibited.

Art Awards
PICES is delighted to introduce a new Art Awards Program for the 2026–2027 Summer Exhibitions,
made possible through the generous support of an anonymous donor.
This annual donation will enable the presentation of a series of awards that recognise both artistic excellence
and audience connection, including major awards for Contempora 1 and 2, People’s Choice Awards
inviting visitor participation, and a Small Works Award selected by the hanging team.
This initiative brings an exciting new dimension to the exhibition program, celebrating artists
and enhancing engagement with the wider community.

ART AWARDS

Contempora 1 Art Award and Contempora 2 Art Award
Two major awards of $500 each for the Contempora 1 & 2 exhibitions.

Contempora 1 Peoples’ Choice Award and Contempora 2 Peoples’ Choice Award
Two Peoples’ Choice Awards of $350 each for the Contempora 1 & 2 exhibitions.

Peoples’ Choice Award
Visitors able to vote for their favourite artwork in each Contempora exhibition.
Winners to be announced at the Summer Exhibition closing ceremony, Sunday 31 January 2027
Small Works Award
Small Works Award of $300 to be selected by the hanging team.
