A New Chapter for PICES

PICES is entering a new chapter, and with that comes a moment to pause, reflect and acknowledge the people who have helped shape the organisation into what it is today.

The indefatigable, much loved and greatly admired Sandra Peeters is stepping down from her role as President of PICES.

Since the very beginning, Sandra has been at the heart of PICES. Over the past seven years, her vision, commitment and steady leadership have played an extraordinary role in establishing a vibrant and respected contemporary arts presence on Phillip Island and within the Bass Coast region.

Through her dedication, PICES has grown into a thriving, volunteer-driven organisation — one that supports artists, engages the community and delivers thoughtful, high-quality exhibitions year after year.

Sandra’s contribution goes far beyond the visible. It is reflected in the spirit of PICES itself — collaborative, generous and quietly determined. We are deeply grateful for everything she has given, and we celebrate her remarkable contribution with appreciation and respect.

We're thrilled to embrace this transition and warmly welcome Adrian Montana as the new President of PICES!

Adrian has already been an active and valued member of the Committee, bringing with him a depth of experience and insight in the arts.

Many in our community will know him through the thoughtful and engaging Artist Forums, which he has so successfully hosted, creating space for meaningful dialogue and connection between artists and audiences.

Adrian steps into the role with a strong understanding of PICES and a clear commitment to supporting its continued growth. His approach reflects both continuity and fresh perspective — building on the foundations that have been so carefully established.

Transitions like this are an important part of any evolving organisation. They offer an opportunity to honour what has been created, while also looking ahead to what is possible.

We sincerely appreciate Sandra for her leadership and lasting contribution, and we eagerly anticipate the next stage with Adrian as President.

PICES is thriving — fueled by its vibrant community, crafted by its passionate people, and ready to embrace whatever comes next!
