DEBORAH HILL: Biography
Deborah Hill uses symbolism, motifs and expressive mark making through colour and texture to build up layers with mixed media which invite the viewer to slow down and observe closely while discovering hidden gems within the artwork.
Deborah hopes to create immersive pieces which spark the imagination of the viewer and create a deeper awareness of the natural world.
You will often find animals, plants and stylised symbolic imagery in her artwork which allow the viewer to reflect and interpret their own narrative.
PICES TERMS & CONDITIONS OF SALE
1. General
These Terms & Conditions apply to all artwork sales conducted through Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space (PICES).
By purchasing an artwork, the purchaser agrees to these terms.
Artwork Collection
• Purchasers may elect to collect artworks directly from the exhibition venue
• Small Works ExhibitionArtworks may be collected during the exhibition period once full payment has been received
• Contempora ExhibitionsArtworks must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and may only be collected on the final day of the exhibition, unless otherwise agreed with the Curator
• PICES will coordinate collection times and notify purchasers accordingly
2. Pricing & Payment
• All prices are listed in Australian Dollars (AUD)• Payment must be made in full prior to release of artwork• Payments are processed securely via Square or approved platforms
3. Ownership
Ownership of the artwork transfers to the purchaser only once full payment has been received.
4. Shipping & Delivery
Shipping and insurance are the responsibility of the purchaser and are not included in the purchase price.
PICES can assist by arranging shipping on the purchaser’s behalf using Australia Post Business. Where this service is requested:
• Shipping costs will be quoted and must be approved and paid prior to dispatch• PICES will prepare the artwork, generate a shipping label, and lodge the parcel at an Australia Post outlet• Tracking details will be provided once the artwork has been dispatched
Alternatively, purchasers may choose to arrange their own shipping, collection by the Shipping Company must be approved and arranged in consultation with PICES delivery co-ordinator availability.
Purchased Artwork Collection
Where possible, purchasers are encouraged to collect artworks directly from the exhibition.
• Small Works ExhibitionPurchased artworks may be collected during the exhibition period, once full payment has been received.
• Contempora Exhibitions (1 & 2)Purchased artworks are to remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and may be collected on the final day of the exhibition, or as otherwise arranged with the Curator.
Collection times will be coordinated by PICES and communicated to purchasers.
5. Risk & Insurance
Risk transfers to the purchaser once the artwork has been dispatched.
Purchasers are responsible for ensuring appropriate insurance during transit.
6. Returns
• Exhibition purchases are final and non-refundable• Returns for non-exhibited works must be requested within 24 hours• Artwork must be returned in original condition• Return shipping and insurance costs are the purchaser’s responsibility
7. Condition of Artwork
All artworks are sold in good faith and are described as accurately as possible.
Any concerns regarding condition must be raised immediately upon receipt.
8. Certificate of Authenticity
All artworks include a Certificate of Authenticity provided by the artist.
9. Liability
PICES is not liable for:
• Delays in delivery• Damage occurring during third-party transport• Loss once artwork has been dispatched
10. Privacy
Customer information is handled in accordance with the PICES Privacy Policy.
11. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
