Discover Contemporary Art onPhillip Island

Phillip Island Contemporary Exhibition Space (PICES)

is a not-for-profit community arts organisation presenting contemporary art exhibitions in Cowes on Phillip Island, and within the Bass Coast region.

White, R_Forest, Acrylic on canvas, 33cm

Working in partnership with Bass Coast Shire Council, PICES delivers a vibrant annual exhibition program

at Berninneit Gallery, showcasing artists from Bass Coast and beyond.

Our exhibitions connect artists with the community, offering engaging, accessible

and thought-provoking contemporary art experiences.

Run by a passionate team of volunteers, PICES supports both emerging and established artists

through the annual open entry opportunities with the Small Works Exhibition (50 x 50), and the curated

Contempora 1 and 2 exhibitions.

A Growing and Evolving Arts Community

PICES is more than exhibitions — it’s a growing and evolving creative community.

As we continue to develop, we are exploring new projects, collaborations and opportunities

to support local artists and connect them with wider audiences.

We are also committed to fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation

of contemporary art, creating meaningful connections

between artists, ideas and the community.
