Carolyne Jane
Abstract Artist
Carolyne Jane is a local Phillip Island artist with a passion for abstract. Her works are usually big and bold with lots of strong colour. She is making a real name for herself as a Rising Star artist on Bluethumb which is Australia’s largest online art gallery. PICES is also very thrilled to have supported Carolyne Jane as an emerging artist with her first exhibition showcase in the 2022 PICES Pop Up Exhibition.
Since then Carolyne Jane has gone on to sell many of her works right around Australia.
Carolyne Jane’s tertiary training included a Post Graduate Diploma of Marketing. Other than having undertaken individual painting tuition and mentoring with well-known local artist John Adam, she has received private tuition under Peter Smales, a renowned Melbourne painter and a member of the prestigious Twenty Melbourne Painters Society Inc.
Currently Carolyne Jane is fulfilling her passion in what she sees as the purest form of expression - abstract painting - having embarked on a mentorship program with renowned Canadian abstract artist, Pauline Jans.
Carolyne Jane finds inspiration from the rocks and sea around Phillip Island. She is very drawn to the changing colours of the sea and the beautiful colours of the red rocks and natural diversity of the island, which often tend to end up being the main subjects for her art.
In having a passion for colour, Carolyne Jane enjoys experimenting with the use of different colour combinations to create her work. Her works are mostly intuitive, and she pours all her energy, passion and emotion into each unique piece she creates. Her works are mainly acrylic with some mixed media of charcoal and pastel. She adores painting on big canvases.
Carolyne Jane has been a regular exhibitor in group exhibitions since 2017, in 2022 having been awarded Winner, Best Painting- Artists’ Society of Phillip Island.
